History

Optical Services International was founded in 1984 by industry veteran Duane Reese along with Ray Art, Fred Balester and Ed Schmidt.  In 1990 Dana Reese Weeks became President of the Company. Seeing a need for a support network for independent wholesalers, OSI looked for members with financial stability, positive image within the industry, product line, management and long term commitment.  Today we offer our members:

• A support network that allows our members to tap into each others’ wealth of knowledge and experience.  This is more important than ever with technology evolving at such a fast pace
• Proprietary education and marketing programs
• The ability to supply products from most manufacturers at aggressive pricing due to our purchasing power.  Not only do we work with lens suppliers, but also equipment manufacturers and lab supply distributors
